Statue of Liberty and Eiffel Tower Pillows

I am completely in love with the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower and the Chrysler Building, too.  I have statues and wall art and wood boxes all over the house with these images on them and I decided to update my bedroom pillows and quelle surprise, I turned to my love of these structures again, some more.

I made them using my trusty Citra-Solv transfer technique and I'm running out of that stuff and need to hunt some more down.

I found images for the tower, the statue and the skyline of New York in a google image search and then downloaded a bunch of different fonts for the printed elements and arranged it all on my fabric and voil
à, new pillows.

I did not use zippers to make these covers, bad move, I know.  I'm living on the edge and will eventually curse myself for not using zippers but it was another one of those gotta make it now things and I had no zippers on hand.  I can install them later when they need a wash.

Tiffany Blue & Red Crochet Edged Pillowcase

I made this for a friend who likes to bring her own pillowcase when she travels.  I'm in love with this print!

Sunflower Pillow

I sewed this sunflower pillow to give to my mother on her birthday.

I have a tutorial for this project here - these petals are a different shape from those in the tutorial, but the pillow is made in the same way.

Don't you hate it when you photograph something and then you notice a wall socket figuring prominently in the finished product?  Ugh.

Recycled Battenburg Lace

I took down and stored some Battenburg lace valences when I redecorated a guest room and now I've used the lace to make pillows.

The valences were too narrow to make pillows, so I carefully removed the lace with a seam ripper and sewed it to the new fabric, then stitched up the new pillows.

There is almost always a reason to hang onto everything!

Layered Petal Pillow Tutorial

I made this pillow inspired by a duvet I would love to have but will never buy from Anthropologie.

I'll be sewing its mate and doing some serious thinking about whether I want to tackle the matching duvet cover, which would be a huge but entirely doable undertaking.

I'm placing a tutorial for this pillow under the cut.

Shabby Flower Pillow

I made this pillow a while ago and put a tutorial for it here.
